We are comprised of a partnership between the Sault Ste. Marie and District Group Health Association and, the Algoma District Medical Group. The Association is governed by a community Board of  Directors that is a not-for-profit corporation and owns the physical facility, equipment, furnishings, and hires all the non-physician staff which numbers well over 300.

Physicians are shareholders and associates of the Algoma District Medical Group, an independent corporation that provides and arranges medical services in agreement with the Association.

The principles of the GHC developed over 45 years ago remain today: group medical practice, consumer sponsorship and the prepayment of medical insurance. Our values express our commitment to excellence, innovative management, community governance, and a committed staff.
