October 16, 2009  - Physicians of the Algoma District Medical Group (ADMG) and staff of the Group Health Association, at the Group Health Centre, mourn the loss of Dr. D. Bryan Conly, a long-time Internist and Nephrologist at GHC and the Sault Area Hospital, who passed away yesterday.

According to Dr. Patti Avery, CEO of the ADMG: “Dr. Conly was a dedicated physician who will be truly missed by his colleagues and patients.  The medical community is saddened by his loss and our thoughts and prayers are with Bryan’s family at this time.”

Dr. Conly joined the ADMG in 1984. After graduating from the University of Manitoba, he served as a Medical Officer and Flight Surgeon with the Royal Canadian Air Force. During that time, he completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Winnipeg General Hospital and received his Fellowship in Internal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in 1974. He retired from the Canadian Armed Forces with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 1979, when he went into private practice in Winnipeg, until he came to GHC in 1984.
