The Group Health Centre Trust Fund was established in June of 1979 in response to requests from patients and families.

Our Mission Statement
The Mission of the Group Health Centre Trust Fund is to promote public awareness of the needs of the Group Health Centre and to secure financial assistance to assist the Group Health Centre in the provision of health care services.

Our History
Since our beginning, the Group Health Centre Trust Fund has seen successful and overwhelming support of fundraising events, with generous donations from individuals, community groups, service clubs and businesses who, in turn, become instrumental in making a difference in the health care of so many. The proceeds from events and donations have enabled our foundation to purchase many pieces of state-of-the-art equipment, as well as provide programs.

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care does not provide funding for new medical equipment so this necessitates acquiring additional funding for equipment purchases and new or expanded programs.

Sault Ste. Marie and area has been, and continues to be, an instrumental part in making the Group Health Centre the health care facility it is today. Although we may not require equipment services for ourselves today, our family, friends and neighbours may. More and more, individuals are remembering the Group Health Centre Trust Fund when making their In Memoriam donations as well as supporting our well-established annual fundraising events, such as our Big Wish Lottery, Direct Mail Campaign, Fun Children's Soccer Day with Aaron Gavey and Friends, and our Group Health Centre Pharmacy Charity Golf Classic. Your support guarantees that these dollars stay in our city and enhance medical care to benefit everyone in our community and surrounding area. Our foundation, the Group Health Centre Trust Fund, and its fundraising is an essential part of the Sault Ste. Marie and District health care picture.

Our Financial Goals
1. To earn revenue for much needed state-of-the-art medical equipment;
2. To earn revenue to support health information programs; and
3. To earn revenue to support the needs of all departments of the Group Health Centre.

Our Non-Financial Goals
1. To educate the public about the Group Health Centre Trust Fund's mandates, goals and objectives;
2. To educate the public about the lack of funding to purchase new medical equipment; and
3. To encourage and provide recognition to individuals, groups and organizations that generously give to our organization.
