Glenn Wilson (1929-2014)

The Group Health Centre would like to acknowledge the passing of Glenn Wilson - a key contributor to the founding of the Group Health Centre. Wilson was recruited by Group Health Centre founder John Barker in 1960 to survey local households, and put together preliminary figures for building and operating the Centre. When the Centre was being built, Wilson was very involved in the day-to-day operations, and was responsible for bringing Dr. Thompson Ferrier on board (who served as founding Medical Director of the Group Health Centre from 1962-1982). Wilson later served as an advisor to the Board of Directors of the Group Health Association. He passed away at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina after a short illness. He was 85 years old.
