Big Wish Lottery is Back!

THE BIG WISH LOTTERY HAS BEEN EXTENDED

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON (12 January 2022) – As a result of the recent surge of COVID-19 cases related to the Omicron variant and the province’s decision to return to a modified Stage Two of its Roadmap to Reopen, The Group Health Centre Trust Fund has received approval from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario to extend its Big Wish Lottery to February 15th, 2022. The Grand Prize of $100,000 and 10 additional draws of $1,000 each remains the same.

“Originally, when we organized this year’s Big Wish Lottery, we chose to use a hybrid model to give our supporters the option of purchasing their tickets online or in-person with paper tickets,” says Tricia Lesnick, Group Health Centre Trust Fund Manager. “However, with the recent surge of COVID-19 cases, the reintroduction of capacity limits, and the temporary closure of the ticket selling locations across the community, we’ve decided to shift to 100% online ticket sales beginning January 15th, 2022.”

As of January 15th, 2022, Big Wish Lottery tickets will only be available online by visiting bigwishlottery.ca. All printed tickets purchased are still valid and included in the draw.

The 2022 Big Wish Lottery draw will now take place at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15th, 2022, at the Group Health Centre; on the day of the draw, online ticket sales will close at 4:45 p.m. (license No. RAF1228694). Winners are not required to be present at the time of the draws to win.

You can help the Group Health Centre Trust Fund continue to support a lifetime of care for our community by getting your ticket today! Proceeds raised through ticket sales of the 2022 Big Wish Lottery will be directed toward purchasing and upgrading medical equipment, which will continue GHC’s tradition of providing exceptional local health care to patients across our community.

Founded in 1979, the Group Health Centre Trust Fund is a registered non-profit organization, meeting the fundraising needs of the Group Health Centre, its patients, and the surrounding community of Algoma. Through the generosity of our donors, sponsors and supporters, the Group Health Centre Trust Fund supports the purchase of new medical equipment to meet health care needs within our community.
